Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The following are common questions with regard to venue accessibility, transit and parking:

Where is the venue located?

The Distillery Lofts (http://www.distillerylofts.net/) are located in South Lake Union at

1735 Westlake Ave N

Seattle, WA 98109

Is parking available?

Parking is available directly across Westlake Avenue with a combination of FREE 2-hour and City of Seattle operated parking stalls.  It is first come, first served.

What time should I arrive?

Doors / Guest Registration opens at 300pm with the event beginning promptly at 4pm.  We invite our guests to arrive early, secure their seats in the general admission area and take this time to enjoy a refreshment from the bar while viewing the art exhibit with their fellow attendees.

What are my transit options?

The Metro King County Bus Route 40 directly stops in front of the Distillery Lofts.  A parking lot across the street allows guests to park and lock as well.

Is the event for adults only?

The event is recommended for 16 years old and up.  There is social hour during the hour prior to event offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.  ID required, 21+ strictly enforced.

ACCESSIBILITY

Will there be American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation?

Organizers will do their best to accommodate with interpretation services for the event for our deaf and hard-of-hearing guests if a request is made.

Is the environment scented (scent dispensers in the bathrooms, scented soap in the bathrooms, scent in the main space)?

The environment itself does not have scent in the main space, though the bathrooms have scent dispensers/disinfectants in addition to scented soap (typically pink anti-bacterial) maintained by the building's landlord.

Is an attempt being made to ask the audience to be scent free?

We will be happy to post signage at a guests request at Guest Registration and near the public toilets with "SCENT-FREE ZONE" indicated as well as informing our staff to avoid the use of overpowering deodorants, lotions and perfumes.  In our Welcome Email to guests, alongside Instructions for Transit, Parking and Check-In times, we can also include a request for guests to arrive scent-free, though we cannot guarantee their observance of that request.

What does the seating look like (Is it padded? Does it have back support?)

The layout will be an Odeon Theater arrangement with seats made of materials of a simple construction including plastic and molded-metal folding chairs coming from a party rental supplier.

Is there food available/will there be eating in the space?

A light snack will be offered alongside alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options.  The snack is an accompaniment to beverages, but will not replace a typical meal.  This will be available in the designated social hour space adjacent to the main seating area.

Additional Information On Accessibility:

The Distillery Lofts (http://www.distillerylofts.net/) is a historic building with limited access. The hallways leading from the entrance/guest check-in are narrow and do not accommodate a wheelchair nor would be ideal for those requiring assistance with 2-steps leading down into the venue and 2-steps up into the main seating area.
